Sand Sculpting Returns November 16th - 25th
The 32th annual American Sand Sculpting Championship returns to Fort Myers Beach from Friday, November 16, to Sunday, November 25 at the Wyndham Garden Hotel at 6890 Estero Boulevard daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to the talented sculptors, there will be Quick Sand speed sand sculpting, live music, sand sculpting demonstrations and lessons, Kid’s Zones, and the Sand Vendor
Village with over 70 exhibitors. Feature sculptors compete in the Solo Championship the first week, followed by the Doubles competition the second. “We have 16 Master Sand Sculptors in the Solo Division,” said Bill Knight, Championship co-chair with wife Marianne of “The Sand Lovers” from Fort Myers. “Many stay for the second week, to compose the 5 Doubles Teams. There are as well 10 Master Amateurs in the Advance Amateurs competition, so these are 26 of the most talented sand sculptors on the entire planet! We award the Solo winner on Sunday the 18th, with the Doubles and Advanced Amateur Crowns on Sunday the 25th.”
