61st Annual Lions Shrimp Festival
Fort Myers Beach – March 9 & 10
The 61st Annual Fort Myers Beach Lions Shrimp Festival will be held
on March 9 and 10 and the excitement is building for the biggest event
the Island sees each year! The Fort Myers Beach Lions Club is offering
two full days of fun with something for everyone on the schedule. The
favorites are back – Saturday’s 5K run, parade and Queen crowning –
Sunday’s Shrimp Eating Contest and two full days of Shrimp Dinners and
Expo fun! So much fun that it actually begins the Saturday before, March
2, when the Lions Kids’ Shrimp Run on the beach takes place. You won’t
want to miss a minute of the fun! And the best part, all proceeds go to
Lions charities!

HISTORIC COTTAGE
Island museum located at 161 Bay Rd, FMB, at the entrance to Matanzas Pass Preserve, houses a collection of artifacts, photos and memorabilia of life on Estero Island. Free. Open WE and SA 10am-Noon.

Experience Florida’s natural and cultural history where Estero Island’s oldest standing structure sits atop an ancient Calusa Indian Mound. The Mound House is a unique archaeological and historical site on Fort Myers Beach located directly on Estero Bay and offers a variety of programs for local residents and visitors. Come see this historic treasure and check out the museum store! Half price admission on Halloween to anyone in costume! Grounds open sunrise to sunset at no charge.
